Madhouse is working on a new movie called "Piano no Mori ~The Perfect World of Kai~".  The official site says that it is due to be released in July 2007.

Shotaro Ishinomori's The Skull Man is set to be adapted into an anime TV series by Studio Bones.  It is due out in Spring 2007 and the official website can be found here.

The newest addition to the Dancougar franchise, Dancougar Nova, now has it's site here.  The series is set to preimiere on February 15th.

Engage Planet Kissdum has it's official website up.  The series will be animated by Satelight and will premiere sometime in 2007.

ImaginAsian has announced that beginning on January 30th they will have a two hour block of anime called "Anime EnerG". It will feature Geneon titles and the first titles to be shown will be Elemental Gelade, KyoKara Maoh!, Law of Ueki, and Gankutsuo.

Bandai has finally made the long awaited and much anticipated announcement that they have acquired Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.  There is no further information yet as far as casting or release dates.  We do know that so far there is not cast selected for the series.

UPDATE: Apparently there is a hidden link on the official page for the series that leads to a voice actor audition page for the character Mikuru Asahina.  There are recordings of four unnamed actresses and the option to vote for your favorite.

A new trailer for the Transformer's movie is online here.  The movie is scheduled to hit theatres July 4th.

Sorry about the lack of a podcast last week and this week.  I needed to take a break due to graduating and finding a job.  Plus there is very little going on in the anime world due to christmas.  There are no conventions and very few releases.  I will try to put one out next week however.

Mitsunaga Yasunori's ~Princess Resurrection~ has been licensed to be adapted into an anime series.  This information comes from Kodansha's Shonen Sirius magazine.

The manga's North American distribution rights were purchased in November by Del Rey who plans to release Volume 1 in May 2007.

February 6th, Sony will be releasing Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in a Limited Edition Collector's Set.  The set will retail for $49.95 and include the Final Fantasy VII: Last Order anime short, postcards, a copy of the script, and a character book in addition to the regular edition extras.

ADV has posted a behind the scenes video for Nerima Daikon Brothers on the official website.

The web address http://asosbrigade.com leads to an official looking website that has been launched to promote The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.  Also ads have been purchased on many prominant websites like Anime News Network.  There are no details about possible licenses yet.

Seven Seas has announced the acquisition of Venus Versus Virus.  The first volume is set to be released in June.

Geneon has launched the official website for Paradise Kiss.  The site contains a trailer, various downloads, and DVD release info.

ADV Films has announced their aquisition of the second season of the Ah! My Goddess TV series.  It was announced about a month ago that Media Blasters, who released season 1, would pass on season 2.  No further details have been announced.

Anime Expo, taking place June 29th - July 2nd in Long Beach, CA, is now accepting preregistrations.  Pre-registration is $45 and will be accepted through the end of the year.  You can register here.

Broccoli Books has announced the license4 of Angel Food Cake in a Box, Calendar Girls, Madadane, and Murder Princess.  No release details have been announced.

Best Student Council will be joining The Anime Network on December 28th.  The volume 1 DVD will be released January 9th.

The 11th Detective Conan Movie (known in the US as Case Closed) will premiere in Japan April 21.  The movie will be titled Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure.

There is currently a spinoff Death Note film in production which will be released next year.  The previous two Death Note features and series have been very successful in Japan.

Death Note: The Last Name slipped two places in the Japanese Box Office after holding the top spot for 4 weeks.  It was beaten out by Love and Honor and Casino Royale.

The Prince of Tennis and MAR will be joining the Toonami lineup on December 23rd at 10 PM Eastern.

The Right Stuf has finally announced the release of the first volume of To Hear.  It will be released on February 27th. 

To Heart was first licensed in 2004, but the masters were in such bad shape that it has taken multiple years for Right Stuf to remaster the series for release.

Geneon has updated the Hellsing Ultimate Website with release information, story synopsis, trailers, and screenshots.  The first volume of the series is set to be released tomorrow.

Naruto Shippuden (Naruto Gale Saga or Wind Saga depending on translation) is scheduled to begin airing in early Spring 2007, according to TV Tokyo's Naruto website.  The movie for this series is scheduled for a Summer 2007 release in Japan. 

For those unfamiliar with the manga, the Naruto Shippuden portion takes place 2.5 years later.  For this reason, many of the characters look a bit different.

Del Rey has announced the licenses of Alive, Dragon Eye, and My Heavenly Hockey Club.  All three series will be released in the Summer of 2007.

ICv2 will be hosting the second annual Graphic Novel Conference at New York Comic Con next February.  They will have several panelists, including Liza Coppola (Executive Vice President of Viz Media), regina Depping (Graphic Novel Buyer for Baker and Taylor), James Killen (Graphic Novel Buyer for Barnes & Noble), Ed Masessa (Category Manager for Scholastic Book Fairs), and Calvin Reid (Senior Editor at Publishers Weekly).

A 7-minute fight between Afro's father and Justice has been added to the Afro Samurai website.  The site also contains cast, staff, and character information as well as other multimedia and story basics.

Akio Jissoji, best known as the director of Ultraman, died WEdnesday of stomach cancer.  He was 69 at the time of his death.  He is also known for directing Teito Monogatari, Mujo and a number of operas.

TBS Japan will be airing the Digi Charat spin-off, Winter Garden, on December 23rd and 24th.  Part 1 will air at 3:04 AM on Dec. 23rd and Part 2 will air Dec. 24th at 2:49 AM.

This series takes place when Dejiko is much older and working for a cake shop.  The two episode anime is a love story between Dejiko and a boy named Senba Takuro.
