Bandai Visual USA to Stream Episodes

Bandai Visual USA has announced that it will stream the first episode of Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time - A Tale of the Eight Guardians in late March on their dot-anime.us website. The streaming will be free and for a limited time. They also announced plans to offer episodes of True Tears, SHigofumi: Letters from the Departed, and Sola in the future.

New Slayers Series In Production

It has been announced that there is a new television series in the works based on the Slayers light novels. Very little information has been released at this time, but the Hajime Kanazaka Fan Club has confirmed that it is true and that it will be an anime exclusive story that will be split across two seasons. Takashi Watanabe will return to work on the new series with J.C. Staff.

Trigun the Movie Planned for 2009

It has been revealed by a wrapper included with the final volume of Trigun Maximum that Trigun the Movie will open in Japanese theatres in 2009. It will be a completely new story from Yasuhiro Nightow. Takahiro Yoshimatsu will return as the character designer for the new movie.

ADV Announces Dates for Delayed Titles

ADV Films has sent out new dates for some titles that were delayed and removed from their site last month. They have not provided an explanation for the delay, or dates for some titles such as Devil May Cry and Gurren Lagann however. The new dates are:

Live Action Nana and Funky Forest Showings

Viz Pictures has announced that both the live action Nana movie and the Funky Forest anthology will be getting North American theatrical screenings.
The ImaginAsian Center in Los Angeles will screen Nana from March 21st - 27th. The ImaginAsian Theatre in New York City will then screen the movie April 4th - 10th. The movie will hit DVD on April 8th.
Funky Forest will show in the ImaginAsian Theatre in New York City from March 7th - 13th. Then it will show at Grand Illusion Cinema in Seattle, Washington from March 21st - 27th. The run will end in The ImaginAsian Center in Los Angeles from April 18th - 24th. The DVD version will hit stores on March 18th.

The Canada Border Services Agency that the American re-releases of Cool Devices and Words Worth qualify as obscene under Canada's Criminal Code. Because of this, both series may not be legally imported into the country.

Ernie Hudson Cast For Live Action Dragonball

Ernie Hudson, best known for his role as Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters, has been added to the cast of the live action Dragonball movie. He is also known as Leo Glynn in Oz and Detective Ridley in Desperate Housewives. His role in the movie has not yet been revealed.

Akira Live-Action Movies In Works

It has been reported that Warner Brothers and Appian Way, the production company owned by Leonardo DiCaprio, will be adapting Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira into two live-action films. Each film will follow three volumes of the manga. Ruairi Robinson will be making is debut as director and Gary Whitta is writing the script.

One Piece Movie Trailer Posted

Funimation Entertainment has posted a trailer for One Piece: The Desert Princess and The Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta. The DVD was released on Feb 19th and is the first One Piece DVD with the new dub cast and no content edits.

Emma to Debut at NY Comic Con

The New York Comic Con has announced that it will be screening the first episode of Victorian Romance Emma at it's convention. The premiere will take place on April 19th at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City and will be subtitled. No dub is being produced for the series. The first volume of the series will be available from The Right Stuf International on June 28th.

New York Int's Children's Film Fest to Show Anime

The New York International Children's Film Festival has scheduled showings of 5 Centimeters Per Second and Summer days With Coo. 5 Centimeters will show Saturday March 1st at 2 PM and Summer Days will show on March 8th at 2 PM. Both showings will be in Japanese with English subtitles.

New York Comic-Con Hosts T.M.Revolution

New York Comic-Con has announced that T.M.Revolution will be appearing at their convention which takes place April 18th - 20th. He will perform a live concert on April 19th. He is best known for singing the theme songs for D.Gray-man, Darker than BLACK, and Rurouni Kenshin. He is also known for his theme songs which appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny.

Funimation in Theatres

Funimation has teamed up with The Bigger Picture to bring three films to US theatres as part of The Foreign Exchange series. The series will show in 98 teatres across the US during February. The first movie will be One Piece: The Desert Princess and The Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta which will show from Feb. 7th - Feb 10th. Following that, from Feb 14th to Feb 17th, Vexille - 2077 Isolation of Japan will show in theatres. Then ending the series will be Genghis Khan: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea from Feb 21st to Feb 24th. ADV Films Chooses Blu-ray

ADV Films has chosen Blu-ray as the format for it's upcoming high-definition releases. They plan to start releasing discs in Blu-ray as early as this spring and will concentrate first on its most recent licenses since they mostly already have a high-definition transfer available.

Devil May Cry 4 Will Still Include DVD

Capcom has assured gamers that the Devil May Cry 4 collector's edition will still include a Devil May Cry anime DVD. Concerns were raised about this in the wake of ADV Films reports of short-term issues that caused them to pull a bunch of titles off their website, including Devil May Cry. The Collector's Edition will be released on February 5th with a retail price of $79.99. It will include the game, the first four episodes of the anime, another DVD of extras, and be packed in a metal case.
